Active immunisation against rubella
Adult: Given as a combination with measles and mumps vaccines: 19-49 yr: 1 or 2 vaccination doses may be used, for adults ≥50 yr: only 1 vaccination dose is required.
Child: Given as a combination with measles and mumps vaccines: ≥12 mth: 2 doses of 0.5 ml. 1st dose is usually given after first birthday (recommended age: 12-15 mth old) and 2nd dose at 3-5 yr of age prior to school entry. Doses should be separated by at least 4 wk. May be given at any age if routine admin has been omitted. Immunisation dose given before 12 mth of age may not be counted.
